I think we have all been hearing about AI, which stands for Artificial Intelligence. My first thought was, I am a retired guy, I don’t think I will be using it.

Then I talked to a real estate agent who said he was using it to help him write better descriptions of the houses he had listed.

Google Searching

I will admit that Google’s search engine is very powerful, bringing that best and most viewed links to the top of the list.

As an example, I sometimes look for – How To Repairs on my house, and the first place I often turn to is YouTube videos. I am amazed at some of the excellent videos I have seen and have helped me do what I needed to do.

AI Searching

So I did a search in Youtube for AI, and found an excellent video noted below. What caught my attention was that he says that man’s brain remains constant from generation to generation. But computers that have only been around for about 80 years, and up to now were basically glorified calculators.

But computers are now starting to be more intelligent than the human brain ! And will continue to do so going forward.

He makes many good points in an entertaining way.

The Perfect Prompt

If you have tried ChatGPT, you know that you need to be able to “ ask the right question ” , in order to get the right answer you are looking for. The Youtube video below goes into the details of how to perfect this.

Master The Perfect ChatGPT Prompt Formula

Below are my notes from the video.

He says need to include these things in the prompt –

task context exemplar personal format tone

And the order is also important

Task is mandatory, context & exemplar are important, the rest are nice to have

You don’t need all six prompts to have a good output.

Task – start with a verb like – write, compose, etc and ending with the goal.

You can even ask for a Multi-Task Request.

Context

This is the tougher one to get right.

Ask yourself beforehand, what is the User’s background ?

What does success look like ? What environment are they in ?

Context As An Example

I am a 150 pound male looking to put on muscle mass in the next 3 months.

I can go to the gym twice a week, for an hour.

Give me a 3 month training program.

Exemplars = examples

Rewrite the bullet point to be –

I accomplished X by the measure of Y which resulted in Z

Answer a question with the STAR framework – Situation, Task, Action, Result

Persona

You can tell ChatGPT who you are, or who you want to answer the question.

Format

It is possible to do a spreadsheet format as a result, but the most Common Formats are – emails, bullet points, code blocks, paragraphs and markdowns.

Ask it to rewrite a letter, bolding the things that have been changed, so you can see them easily.

Tone

Do you want a casual or formal tone of voice ?

Do you want a witty output ?

Do you want an enthusiasm or pessimistic tone ?

As you can see, there are lots of things to try, and we are only scratching the surface.

Building a New ChatGPT

I watched a video showing you how to develop a new program that will solve real world problems like calculating quotes for roofers, or one for online customer service.

There are lots of very practicals things bots can and will do in the years to come. If your curious, do a search on “build an AI chatbot” , and you will have lots to watch.

For Music Too

I have been trying out AI for use with my music too and will do a post in the near future on how it is going.

Biggest Change In My Life ?

I had the thought that AI may be the biggest change to my life, as I soon turn 70 years old. I don’t really see as I look around today, but that does not mean it is not happening.

Like a lot of change in our world today, it takes time and effort just to keep up with it. I try, and learn as much as I can. I think we’re in a brave new world. Search on !
